 Xavi Carbonell Bio

Xavi Carbonell was born in 1971 and comes from Alcoi, Spain. 
Known for his child-like paintings, Carbonell leaves most of his works untitled to allow the audience to make their own interpretations about the art. Viewers enter into his extremely color filled playful world where his ideas are inspiered by childrens' sketches. His scribbling, blotches of color, odd shapes and figures make up his unique style. He also gets his inspirations from other artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat & Cy Twombley. Carbonell's thoughts and emotions also play a big role in his pieces. His work has been selected for numerous awards around the world.
He works between Spain and New York.
