Artist’s Statement:
Each artist's brushwork is their unique fingerprint and gives their work its own personality. This holds true for me as well, so I strive to have quality and intent each time I put my brush to canvas. My newer work explores the influence of color and how it affects the mood of the painting. Sometimes subtle, using a limited color palette, other times bold, my intent is to stretch the boundaries of what you see to something new and unexpected. My focus is also on simplifying the whole painting while also achieving maximum impact. I am most strongly influenced by work that moves more towards an expressive reality than more traditional representational painting. Art should stimulate dialog between the viewer and the art, as well as with the artist. Boulevard Fine Art South gallery in Nokomis, FL feature Jeanne Echternach's artwork.
