Canadian born artist Ian Begg demonstrated his artistic talents early with a keen interest in design andcolor. The artist spent his early twenties at the Ontario College of Art where he was introduced to amultitude of media and techniques. He began with watercolor landscapes with elements defined by lineand large wash areas. Experimenting with lino block, he expanded the watercolor technique to developlarge, flat graphic images with vivid color. Changing his medium to acrylics, Ian began painting boldlysized portraits and landscapes on canvas and paper.By eliminating distracting objects, and with loose brush strokes he creates movement within the art. Hiswork is enticing to those intrigued by seductive, expressive, and enigmatic images. Ian achieves aunique quality to his work; a parameter which bestows them a life of their own.
