About The Artist

Mary Mackey began her career in the visual arts with a distinct focus on photography. She earned an Associate Degree from the Colorado Institute of Art, and began working as a freelance fashion photographer and photo journalist. In 1991 she opened the Mackey Gallery in Denver. Devoted to some of the regions great mid-career artists, the Mackey Gallery quickly became known as one of Denver's best. After running the gallery for nine years, Mackey closed its doors in 2000 to devote more time to her own art. Since then, Mary has continued to paint on may surfaces including Mylar, canvas and board. She is represented by many art consultant firms here in the United States as well as abroad.
